Why block paving needs special care
The sand in the joints holds each block in place. Cleaning removes some of it, so a proper block paving clean finishes with re-sanding using kiln-dried sand. Skipping this step lets weeds return quickly and can let blocks shift.
Sealing block paving
Once re-sanded, block paving can be sealed. Sealing helps bind the joint sand, slows weed regrowth and makes future cleaning easier. It is optional, and we will explain whether it suits your paving.

Our process
- Weed removal — Weeds and moss are removed from the joints.
- Rotary clean — The surface is cleaned evenly with a rotary surface cleaner.
- Dry and re-sand — Once dry, kiln-dried sand is brushed into the joints.
- Optional seal — A suitable sealer can be applied to lock in the sand.
What to expect
Re-sanding has to wait until the paving is dry, so it is sometimes done on a second visit. Sealing also needs dry weather.
