Choosing the right method
Older, softer bricks and lime mortar can be damaged by high pressure, so they are usually cleaned with a low-pressure soft wash. Harder modern bricks and engineering bricks can take a controlled pressure clean.
Garden walls and boundary walls
Garden walls, retaining walls and copings often grow moss and algae, especially in shade. Cleaning them makes a big difference to how a garden looks.
What we clean
- House brickwork
- Garden and boundary walls
- Natural stone walls
- Copings, pillars and steps
Our process
- Test area — We check the brick or stone and test a small area first.
- Treat — A suitable cleaning solution is applied to break down growth.
- Clean — Walls are cleaned at a pressure suited to the material.
- Rinse — Everything is rinsed and the area left tidy.
What to expect
Algae and surface dirt come off well. Some staining, such as efflorescence (white salt marks), rust or paint, may need specialist treatment and may not be fully removable.
Frequently asked questions
Will cleaning damage old brickwork?
Not when the method suits the brick. Soft or old brickwork is cleaned at low pressure.
Can you remove white marks on bricks?
White efflorescence is salt coming out of the brick. It can often be reduced, but it may return while the wall is drying out.
Do you clean garden walls?
Yes - garden, boundary and retaining walls.
